In January 2011 Jaki was employed full-time as an Office Temp through a recruitment agency. By June 2011, Jaki had secured a role as a Graduate Trainee in marketing with an organisation in London. When questioned about her role in January, Jaki admitted to undertaking the role as a means to earn some money before deciding what she wanted to do.

In terms of her career planning, Jaki only started to think about her career towards the end of her degree and didn't pursue internships but chose to focus upon her studies instead. Jaki did use the Careers Centre as a student and as a graduate. If she had the chance to repeat her student experience again, Jaki by her own admission stated I would have started using the Careers Centre earlier, so that I wouldn't have had to take a year of doing office work before starting something I really wanted to do.

My top tip to students is: begin researching careers early on in your degree and get involved with clubs and societies.
