From practical heritage work with the University’s Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine to the critical analysis of the role of technology in social change, this sub-theme offers much scope for reflection.

A major emphasis is on the deep historical analysis of rapid technological change, and on the philosophical analysis of what technologies mean for the nature of human existence.
